The Manta Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to manta conservation research. Our vision is to foster a sustainable future for the oceans, ensuring thriving populations of manta rays and their related species within healthy, diverse marine ecosystems.
Graphic Design
As part of an effort to enlighten children about the importance and scientific intricacies of Earth's oceans and wildlife, along with their crucial role in the ecosystem, the charity assigned me the responsibility of creating an educational booklet. The objective was to craft a visually enticing, thoroughly enjoyable, and engaging resource, ensuring content that is easily comprehensible and accessible.
Following our initial meeting, I presented three conceptual directions, all of which were enthusiastically received by the Manta Trust team, making it challenging for them to select just one. Ultimately, they were drawn to the concept of a fully illustrated booklet featuring custom-created sea creatures.
The design of the booklet mimicked a child's scrapbook, featuring illustrations designed as stickers. Hand-drawn diagrams were incorporated, accompanied by playful hand-drawn typography to enhance the overall appeal.
Every page presented educational content alongside entertaining games for children to enjoy while exploring the ecology of the ocean and its significance to the planet. The engaging and interactive design received widespread acclaim from teachers and educators worldwide.
